BellSealGold

Bell Seal Award- A national certification program to recognize employers committed to creating mentally healthy workplaces. It evaluates the entire employee experience and considers 4 aspects: workplace culture, benefits, compliance, and wellness programs. HEH received the Gold level in 2022.

HEH focuses on the purpose of empowering fulfillment. HEH’s goal is to provide the onus to help one another to move up “Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs”, no matter where they currently are in their lives. To uphold our culture, HEH lives by our core values:

Practice Radical Candor

Genuinely care AND directly challenge teammates to help them improve. Don’t sacrifice clarity for kindness. Be open and honest with your thoughts and feelings. Always confront teammates with feedback; never gossip.

Always Learn and Grow

Continuous improvement; always a student. Be open minded to feedback; it’s shown in your effort not just your words. You must be willing to step out of your comfort zone. Be adaptable.

Strive for the Win-Win

Seek solutions that benefit everyone involved. Give smartly to make the pie bigger for you and for me. Be creatively collaborative.

Spread Good Vibes

Radiate positive energy; it’s contagious. Be kind; be empathetic; be considerate. Don’t be arrogant; be humbly confident. Be the reason someone smiles today.

We invest in the mental well-being of our teammates.

At HEH, we prioritize our team and their mental health. This is the ultimate win-win as it enables our team to treat our guests and community well. Receiving the Bell Seal certification means that we are headed in the right direction and providing a supportive and empowering culture!”

Mental Wealth Benefit

As it stands, we encourage our team members to utilize our “Mental Wealth” benefit, which allows them to have 50% of their therapy session costs reimbursed (up to $200/month). We also have a “May Mental Health Moves” program during the month of May to introduce team members to healthy self-care habits such as mindfulness meditation, mindful time outside, and journaling. During this month, we provide learning materials, facilitate small groups for discussions and accountability, and meet up weekly to promote team bonding and practice the self-care habits.

For our leadership team of 25 members (executive board, corporate staff, and management team), we hold a bi-monthly “Masterminds Meeting” where we teach topics that will help personally and professionally. Topics have included “Building Good Habits”, “Goal Setting”, “Workplace Culture”, “Deep Work”, “Time Blocking & Time Management”, “The Importance of Sleep”, “Emotional Intelligence”, and “Work-Life Balance: The Perfect Day.”

BIRTHDAYS

Every team member (all 160 of them) gets a cake on their birthday and is sung to!

Instead of talking about how dope we are, we’d rather show you.

Every month, HEH organizes a get-together for our team to relax and get to know one another on a personal level. These events include outdoor picnics, team sports (basketball, volleyball, soccer), game nights (Dave & Busters), potlucks (Thanksgiving, Secret Santa), pool parties, birthdays, and holiday parties. For our leadership team of 25 members (executive board, corporate staff, and management team), we hold a bi-monthly “Masterminds Meeting” where we teach topics that will help personally and professionally.

Hiking

Spending time in nature is linked to both cognitive benefits and improvements in mood, mental health and emotional well-being. This is one of our first hikes at Scott’s Run!

Yoga

This week’s theme was about the mind and body. This is a class with Sytera yoga – thanks to Antonia, we were able to take a step back and reconnect with our intentions together.

Picnics

Hosting a picnic every month lets us see everyone’s beautiful faces and stay connected with one another! Here we hosted a field day and wellness picnic with a bunch of team-building and calming DIY activities – as our team members would say, “let’s gooo!!”

Volunteering

One of the most effective ways to feel fulfilled includes volunteering and helping the community. We’re super excited to be working with the National Park Services to establish more regular volunteering events for our team members!

Enrichment Workshops

Striving to be our best selves is a huge part of becoming fulfilled, and something that we do every day is learn from one another. Here we had Au host a workshop on fulfillment where we took a step back to reevaluate our values and how we live our lives. Thanks Au!

Pool party & Round1 party

Here at HEH, we don’t take things too seriously. We love to spend time together doing what we do best – having fun and making great memories!
